Restore Old Photos with AI: Fix Tears, Fading and Blur

Quick Summary

Old family photographs rarely survive untouched. Prints crack along the folds, colour shifts towards yellow or magenta, and a scan taken with a phone camera adds its own blur on top. This tool repairs that damage and, if you want, brings the colour back.

You upload a single photo and choose what should happen: repair only, repair and colourise, or colourise a black-and-white print that is otherwise in good shape. The model rebuilds torn areas and removes stains while keeping faces recognisable.

It works on scans and on phone snapshots of a physical print. You do not need a flatbed scanner — a flat, evenly lit photo of the original is usually enough to work with.

Restoration costs 40 credits per image. Credits are bought in one-off packs or through a monthly plan; there is no forced subscription.

How it works

  1. 1

Upload the damaged photo. A phone picture of the print works if it is flat and evenly lit.

  2. 2

Pick what you want: repair only, repair plus colourisation, or colourisation alone.

  3. 3

Download the result. The original stays untouched in your library.

Frequently asked questions

Is the interface in English?

No. Tasarla.ai's interface is currently Turkish only. The tool itself is visual — you upload a photo, pick an option and download the result — so it is usable, but every label you see will be in Turkish. This page exists in English so you know what the tool does before you open it.

Will it change the person's face?

The model is asked to preserve facial structure, but restoration is a reconstruction, not a photograph. On very damaged areas it invents plausible detail. Compare the result with the original before you treat it as an accurate record.

Can it colourise a black-and-white photo?

Yes. You can colourise on its own, or combine it with repair in a single run. Colours are inferred from context, so clothing and background tones are an educated guess rather than the true historical colour.

What resolution do I get back?

The output follows the input. If your scan is small, restore it first and then run it through the photo enhancer to enlarge it up to four times.

How much does it cost?

40 credits per restored image. You can buy credits as a one-off pack without a subscription.

Are my photos kept private?

Uploads stay in your own library and are not published anywhere. Family photographs are personal data — only upload images you have the right to use.
